What is an Ultera? An Ultera is a new type of non-invasive cosmetic procedure that aims to tighten loose and sagging skin and to give it a fresh and youthful appearance. An Ultera is the only system which is certified by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. But what exactly is an Ulthera? This unique system is able to make lifting and tightening of the skin of the lower face and neck, and also a brow lifting.
This innovative technology focuses an ultrasound deep into the skin without causing distortion of its surface layer, achieved impressive results in tightening and thickening of the tissues of the face and neck, some studies have shown very good performance in some areas of the body as forearms and knees. The Ultera enables professionals to focus very precisely ultrasound waves at a depth, that is individually tailored to the problem being treated and the specificity of the skin of each individual patient. In practice, the focused ultrasound induced heating of tissues, something like skin burning, which involves the immune system to work at full steam - the body began producing of a new collagen designed to replace and consolidate old and already damaged layers. This process eventually causes a natural clamping and lifting the tissue without damaging and compromise the integrity of the skin. An Ultera uses the mechanism of the body to heal and regenerate, and can easily be combined with other technologies. Some patients may feel the effects almost immediately, but the most visible results are visible- two to three months after the procedure, when the old and relaxed collagen fibers are replaced with new ones.
What an Ultera is different from other treatments for tightening? The Ultera procedure differs from other aesthetic treatments and in that it combines the visualization of the skin and underlying tissue to the non-invasively action of the ultrasonic energy at depth, which enables a substantial lifting of the skin. While the mere use of ultrasound for medical and aesthetic purposes has been known for decades, the technology for the first time provides an opportunity for professionals to see the different layers of tissue and accurately adjust supply ultrasonic energy. This ensures the best results tailored to individual needs and structure of the tissues of each patient.
What might be the outcome? The areas of a face and a neck that the Ultera treate previously could not be treated with non-invasive technique. The results may vary from patient to patient, as all have various problems, and a different structure of the skin. But in all patients there was an improvement of sagging skin. After the procedure, the patient can return to their daily activities and there is no specific regime of a skin care to be followed. The skin may look red and swollen immediately after treatment, you may feel warm and with high sensitivity, but all these unpleasant feelings will pass in a few hours. The Ulthera procedure is completely safe - the fact is that for decades, ultrasound is used for visual observation of pregnant women in physiotherapy and aesthetics.
