If you want to become a physiotherapist, you first need to know what it entails. For graduate program in physiotherapy, four year of physiotherapy education is required. In order to apply for graduate courses, you need to have a minimum of A-level certificate. You also need to have biology courses in A-level with A-C grades. Without this pre-requisite, you cannot apply for the physiotherapy courses. Since, the medical science has a lot of competition as a lot of students apply for becoming a doctor, the merit is really high to qualify for physiotherapy. Despite meeting the criteria, they fail the entry tests required by colleges and universities. It is a high merit subject for which students need to have good marks to show for it.

Other than A-levels, physiotherapy diploma holders can also apply for entering the graduate program for physiotherapy. Other than that, any equivalent certificate recognized on the national level can help you in applying for the physiotherapy courses if they are treated as equivalents for the A-level criteria. Once, you have applied for physiotherapy, you need to go through a rigorous screening process in order to be accepted into the college. The interviewers judge your basic knowledge of biology as you have only started, in-depth physiotherapy is not required. What they actually judge is your personality, your ability to communicate and also if you have enough compassion and patience as it is an essential element in such education.

The physiotherapy courses involve pathology, anatomy, physiotherapy, and courses of phycology. The screening interview like all medical science fields is very tough as the tutors have multiple aspects to judge. It is a very risky profession as it involves human lives. However, if you have real passion for this profession, there is no reason why you shouldn’t be a physiotherapist. The difference between becoming a sports physiotherapist and a general physiotherapist is that for sports, less grades a required to qualify for it. It is interesting to know that sports is commercialized so the sports therapists are usually paid more money than the general physiotherapists.
