Maths for Children Grade Wise

Maths is a very interesting subject. To some people it comes easy but to other it is difficult. Although, it depends largely on the aptitude of the person, however, it is a known fact that early learning experiences define a part of the aptitude. It is extremely important to be thorough when deciding the syllabus of Maths for children and how to proceed step-wise as the children move from one grade to another. If you are associated with a school and need to shape the syllabus for the children grade wise, then you need to read on as this article is all about Maths.
For preschoolers, the math should not be about writing numbers on a notebook. It should be interactive so that their brain which is not yet developed fully to understand the written words can comply with the visual aid for Maths. Maths for children of preschool age, can involve games which lead them to get the concept of numbers and adding figures. For example, a good exercise can be cutting numbers and letting them touch them to know the shape of numbers. You can also use crafting clay to construct numbers for children. Using abacus with colorful beads can also create interest for numbers.
Teaching shapes is easy to preschoolers since they enjoy toys of shapes and sizes. You can have triangles, rectangles, squares, cubes in the form of blocks and let the kids enjoy building a house or a car or different shape objects using the blocks. Math for children essentially should be education while having fun.
Moving up to grades where addition and subtraction is introduced, again the visual forms can be pretty interesting instead of books telling kids to plus or minus numbers.  For example, using objects and then adding another object and taking one out can teach the simple concepts of addition and subtraction. The idea of Maths for children should be to create interest every steps of the way for the child to indulge in the subject. Children should also be prepared ahead for mathematical challenges that they will face by giving them short exams whose purpose should not be of making judgment at this stage but just to find out their capacity to grasp the stuff. This way you can individually find about each child and can help the ones that are behind others.
If you do it right and focus in creating a happy atmosphere while teaching kids the essential of mathematics, you will see that the kids will show more progress instead when they taught math for the sake of passing exams. Here, the role of parents also comes in as they should also help their kids if they are struggling in mathematics. While creating syllabus of Maths for children, you should also come up with activities that kids have to do at home with parents to produce results. Involving parents will keep them up to date with their child’s progress and also give them an idea whether their child will ever have an aptitude for Maths.
